Thereportincludestwoparts:ThefirstpartwillgiveageneralintroductionoftherecentresearchactivitiesinHTMLwhichincludes:(1)HighSpeedFlow;(2)DBDPlasmaActuator;(3)MAV/UAV;(4)IcingAccretion;(5)UrbanEnvironmentSimulation.Thesecondpartwillintroducethespace-timeconservationelementandsolutionelement(CE/SE)methodwhichisauniqueandefficientcomputationalfluiddynamics(CFD)algorithmforcompressibleflows.TheoriginalCE/SEmethodisacentralmethodwhichdoesn’tconsidertheeigenvaluesofconcernedproblems.Itcansimultaneouslycaptureshockwavesandacousticwavesaccurately.However,itsresolutionforcontactdiscontinuitiesisnotgoodandthedissipationincreasesdramaticallywhenCourantnumberissmall.Asaresult,thecentralCE/SEmethodisnotsuitableformulticomponentflows.Recently,anewcharacteristic-basedCE/SEmethodisdevelopedinHTML.Inthisreport,thebasicideaofthenewmethodanditsapplicationinsingleandmulticomponentflowswillbeintroducedindetail.

Abstract:Manyproblemsinpracticeareideallyposedasamulti-objectiveoptimizationproblem,duetosimultaneousinclusionofmultipleconflictingcriteriaindefiningaproblem.Despitethetraditionalemphasisonscalarizationmethodsofcombiningmultipleobjectivesintoasingleaggregateone,itisadifficulttotasktocombinetwoormorecriteria,suchasfabricationcostandenvironmentdamage,intoasinglefunctioninanordinalmanner.Startedinearlynineties,evolutionarymulti-objectiveoptimization(EMO)methodsutilizedmultipleobjectivesasavectoranddemonstratedtosolvemanytwoandthree-objectiveproblemswithatwo-stepstrategy:(i)firstfindasetoftrade-offefficientsolutions,and(ii)theninvolveadecision-makertochooseasinglepreferredsolution.Thisphilosophyhasrevolutionizedtheactofmulti-objectiveoptimizationsincethenandresultedinthedevelopmentofacomputingfieldinvolvingtheoreticalcomputerscientists,computationalscience,andengineering.ThespeakerhasbeeninvolvedinthegrowthoftheEMOfieldrightfromthebeginning.InthisIEEEDistinguishedLecture,thespeakerwilldiscussthedevelopmentofEMOfieldandalsohighlightsomerecentadvances,sothelectureisusefultobothnew-comersandEMOresearchersalike.

Abstract:Nowadays,3Dprintingisanemergentandwidespreadtechnologyemployedtoenablefastprototypingfordigitalfabricationofreal-worldobjectswithinterestingapplicationsinmedicine,aerospaceandfashiondesign.Inparticular,3DPrintingreferstomanufacturingtechnologiesusing3DPrintersforfabricatingreal-worldshapesusingawiderangeofphysicalmaterial.Inthistalk,wesurveyrecentfundamentalworksforvariousaspectsofdigitalfabricationincludehollowing,structuralanalysis,slicing,fabricableparts,supportstructure,appearance,mechanicaltoy,andbalancing.Finally,wehighlightexistinggeometricoptimizationtoolsrecentlydevelopedinthecontextof3Dprintingandlate-breakingtrendsinstructuralanalysis.SpeakerBio:SinceMarch2015,Dr.YannSavoyeisaresearcherinVisualComputingatInnsbruckUniversityinAustria.HisresearchinterestslieinthefieldofComputerGraphics,ComputerVision,andrecentlyinDigitalFabrication.In2012,heobtainedaPh.D.degreefromUniversityofBordeauxinFrancewithcontributionsfocusedonconvertingcaptureddynamicsurfacesintoreusablecage-basedanimation.HeistheauthorofabookinCage-basedPerformanceCapture.HewasvisitingresearcheratUniversityofPorto(inPortugal),Ben-GurionUniversityoftheNegev(inIsrael),andShandongUniversity(inChina).HeisamemberoftheeditorialboardoftheEncyclopediaofComputerGraphicsandGameatSpringer.

内容提要:Nowadays,video-basedanimationsoflive-actorperformancesareeasiertoacquire.Also,3DVideohasreachedconsiderableattentionsinvisualmediaproductions.Inthistalk,wefocusontheimportanceofpolytopesintheformofvolumiccage-baseddeformersforcapturingandreusingsurfacesinmotion.Wedefinecage-basedperformancecaptureastheprocessofcapturingnon-rigidsurfacesofactorsfrommulti-viewusingpolytopalcagesasanunderlyingdeformablemodel.Asaresult,registeredcage-handlestrajectoriesallowthereconstructionofcomplexmeshsequencesbydeforminganenclosedmesh.Inthecontextofvision-basedgraphics,polytopesoffersufficientdegreesoffreedomandspaceabstractiontodynamicallycapturenon-rigidsurfacemotionandtolearnspace-timeshapevariability.Weillustratetheproblemofextracting,acquiringandreusingnon-rigidpolytopalparametrizationinfouritems:(1)cage-basedinversekinematics,(2)conversionofdynamicsurfaceintocage-basedanimation,(3)cage-basedsurfacestylization,and(4)cage-basedregistration.Finally,wedemonstratethebenefitof3Dpolytopesasreduceddomainforperformancecapture,decouplingmotionfromgeometry.
