Abstract: This presentation will describe our recent results on using various types of stimuli,including light and redox chemistry, to control polymerization reactions and othertransformations. Our efforts were rooted in the design and deployment of photo-or redox-switchable N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs). The presentation willconclude with some perspectives on using various stimuli to remotely controlsynthetic reactions.
