报告人照片 Prof. Khan is currently serving as the director of Competence Center Future Communication Systems at DAI Labor, Technische University Berlin. He received his Habilitation degree in 2017 and PhD degree in Computer Science from TU Berlin in 2011. He is also technically leading the Germany’s flagship research projects towards autonomous driving, named Diginet PS. His main research interests include: 5G mobile networks, Cloud computing, Network Function Virtualization, and service orchestration. The talk will focus on discussing a project that the speaker led from Germany's side in Europe. The project aimed at providing a field deployable mobile network communication solution that is flexible and comprises of automatic configuration and self-organising networks. The idea was to make the network management fully autonomous such that it exhibits plug and play like features. In the areas and situations with no network coverage (including disaster scenarios, terrains with no or very less population, etc.), the project outcomes make it possible rapidly (in hours) deploy the network and self-configure it with minimum human intervention. The solutions are so designed that the networks configures itself according to available resources and environment i.e., selects the best connections, best routes for data and voice and keep reconfiguring with dynamically changing environment to ensure the required QoS. Special focus was given security aspects (both hardware and software), secure SIM cards were designed and developed for the end users.
